What’s happening in Ms. Imrie’s class?!?

Classroom management is a big part of the first week of school. The students are settling in to the routine of First Grade, understanding behavior expectations, and figuring out the dynamics of the classroom. It can be overwhelming at times. We take a lot of breaks by stretching, taking big breaths, and relaxing with our heads down. Sometimes when the classroom becomes too chaotic, the students put their heads down as a way of refocusing our attention on the task at hand. During this transitional time, don’t be alarmed if your student falls to the red lily pad. It’s nothing to be overly concerned about during these first few weeks of school. If something of concern occurs at school, I will contact you either by phone call or email. I have also been handing out A LOT of stickers for the incentive charts. We will be awarding our first prizes tomorrow. The students have been trying hard to earn stickers!

If you haven’t already done so, please return the forms from the parent workshop. We’ve had a few snacks sent to school, but we could still use some more!
